Anchoring Bagatela Street's diplomatic corridor, the proposed new MSZ building completes the north side of the street by filling the space at the east side of the existing building. The concept of the project consists of two courtyards, with staggered wings. The scale of the structure is compatible with the scale of adjacent buildings including embassies and apartments. The street-facing courtyard creates a space for a porte-cochere, the main pedestrian and vehicular acces to the building, while landscaped areas create the transition from public realm to secure interior. Beyond it, the more secluded second courtyard provides daylight for the building's program including reception suites, conference and meeting rooms, cinema, offices, and staff amenities. Underground levels provide spaces for parking and building utilities. The eastern side of the building opens to the park, by patios and terraces extending the building programs. The finishes of the building's elevations consist of a high-performance glazed walls at upper storeys dissolving the mass of the building by reflecting the sky, while the stone cladding base relates to the historic street fabric, ensuring that the project harmonizes with diplomatic area context.
