The winning entry of Expo 86’s Symbol Competition. The proposed 100-meter-diameter ring was to be constructed of lattice steel circular space frame and clad with one-way mirrored glass. Within the rim of the structure, a gondola system lifts visitors on a circular ride, giving them a panoramic view of the city. The one-way cladding makes the gondola invisible from the outside and the exterior of the sculpture appears as a huge, gleaming metallic ring, reflecting its surroundings.
