A heritage courthouse building was extensively remodeled to meet the special requirements of a modem art gallery while retaining the original exterior shell of the building. A new reinforced concrete skeleton was inserted into the old shell in order to accommodate the gallery’s spatial requirements and to meet current safety and seismic requirements.
