The BCIT Aerospace Technology Campus, designed by Kasian, bridges the bustling YVR airport and a serene residential neighborhood. This state-of-the-art facility supports BCIT’s expanded aerospace programs, doubling graduate capacity. It features advanced multimedia technology, a 40,000-square-foot hangar, and over 40 classrooms and laboratories. Sustainable architectural elements ensure cutting-edge training for the aerospace industry while respecting the community and natural environment. Located near YVR, residential areas, the Fraser River, highway frontage, and under a restrictive flight path, the campus faced unique design challenges. Kasian’s solution integrates the campus with its surroundings, incorporating sustainable principles and celebrating its dynamic aerospace program.
