The strategy for the Clarendon New Town was to develop a town that was clearly rooted in the unique cultural, geographical and ecological characteristics of Jamaica. It was essential that it maintain a Jamaican identity while incorporating principles of diversity and innovation capable of steering the community through the decades in a sustainable way.
