Peace Arch Hospital serves White Rock and South Surrey, BC, where 52% of residents are 55 or older, and the population is expected to grow from 109,000 in 2016 to over 131,000 by 2030. To address the aging population and rising healthcare demand, Kasian’s Healthcare Team led the hospital’s expansion and renewal, including a new emergency department, operating rooms, and a medical device reprocessing department (MDRD). Originally built in the 1960s, the undersized facility needed modernization to meet current healthcare standards. Kasian maximized site potential by expanding medical space, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the patient, family, and staff experience. The team advocated for additional upgrades through a second-story addition, creating a healing environment that supports faster recovery, reduces stress, and promotes the well-being of all users.
