The principle design objective focuses on creating an environment of openness and transparency to alleviate the typical experience of “clinical” processing of passengers. At Pemberton departing and arriving passengers can be seen and greeted at the window at the edge of the tarmac. The resulting building is a glass “vestibule” set in a beautiful valley against the magnificent backdrop of Mount Currie. This is an open, friendly and exciting Community airport, designed to leave a lasting impression with visitors, over two thirds of whom are expected to be first time visitors to BC
